On the 11 November 2015, Nanyang Polytechnic, in conjunction with Splunk, hosted the annual NYP-Splunk Challenge. With the advent of Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data, this year’s Splunk Challenge hopes to promote the awareness of essential operational intelligence and data analytics through the use Splunk as a platform. The intense 6 hour event saw participants putting in their creativity and skills to create creative layouts and design to show case their data in order to win the top prize of a MacBook Air! DSTA Cyber Defenders Discovery Camp 2015

Earlier last week, one of Singapore’s largest Cyber Security Camp cum competition was held by the Defence Science and Technology Agency (Singapore) or DSTA. The 3 day camp comprised of 2 days of training and one day of the actual competition. CDDC or Cyber Defenders Discovery Camp is now in its third iteration and with a record number of more than 300 students from 22 schools signing up to learn what it takes to be a cyber warrior, information security’s outreach and interest is evidently not shrinking but rather – growing. Nanyang Polytechnic’s Security, IT’s U 2014 Day Camp

On the 26 November 2014, Nanyang Polytechnic conducted the annual day camp for students looking to join the school’s prestigious Cyber Security and Forensics Course. Conducted over one day, the students from various secondary schools were engaged in many different activities that gave them a broader understanding of the course here in Nanyang Polytechnic.
